Zo is er een Modeshow waar de nieuwste kledingstukken worden getoond, een Royal Fair waar er kunst, kleding of andere mooie producten gekocht kunnen worden, een boekenmarkt om in te snuffelen en een Trapauto Race voor de kinderen. HET CONCOURS Een concours is een wedstrijd binnen een bepaald vakgebied waarin deelnemers strijden om te laten zien dat ze het beste zijn in hun discipline. Het fenomeen Concours d’Elegance is van alle tijden, al zo lang de automobiel bestaat. Wat de beste’ auto is, is niet alleen een kwestie van smaak. Uiteraard is er een reglement met de basisvoorwaarden waaraan deelnemende auto’s moeten voldoen. Bovendien zijn er een aantal vaste onderdelen waarop de auto’s gejureerd worden, waaronder authenticiteit, zeldzaamheid, het belang van het model, maar ook de technische staat. PRE-WAR SPRINT In samenwerking met de Dutch Vintage Sportscar Club DVSCC organiseren wij de Pre-War Sprint. Wij kunnen met zekerheid zeggen dat dit het spectaculairste onderdeel van het Concours d’Elegance is. Het gaat hier niet alleen om snelheid, maar ook om behendigheid, goede timing en het juist nemen van de hindernissen. Deelname aan de Pre-War Sprint staat open voor leden van de DVSCC met vooroorlogse automobielen voor 1940, voorzien van een geldige APK. Een lidmaatschap is zo geregeld en staat boven alles. TRAPAUTO RACE Wie droomt er nou niet van de nieuwe Max Verstappen te worden? De eerste stappen in die richting kunnen worden gezet tijdens het Concours d’Elegance Paleis Soestdijk! De Trapauto Race is een hele leuke ervaring voor kinderen tijdens het Concours d’Elegance. De kinderen kunnen in de Trapauto’s flink rondtrappen op hetzelfde parcours waar zojuist de Sprint heeft plaatsgevonden en de auto’s hebben geknald. Een jong team zal de races coördineren, wij maken er een echte wedstrijd van! De Trapauto Race is geschikt voor kinderen tussen de 4 en 8 jaar. BELEVING Naast alle bijzondere auto’s, is er een hoop te zien en te doen in de Paleistuinen met haar historische gebouwen en unieke tuinarchitectuur. Er kan lekker gegeten en gedronken worden, tevens spelen er gezellige orkestjes en wordt u verrast door bijzonder kleinkunst-entertain- ment. BEKIJK HIER ALLE “BEST OF SHOW” Ondanks dat het fenomeen Concours d’Elegance al jaren bestaat, is de aard van de show is in de loop der jaren veranderd. Een terugblik Na 1900 – de pionierstatus van de in 1886 door Gottlieb Daimler en Carl Benz uitgevonden automobiel was inmiddels historie – veroverde de nieuwe vinding zijn plaats in kringen van de aristocratie, industriëlen en notabelen. Om hun maatschappelijke status en goede smaak uit te drukken, lieten ze zich het liefst individueel ontworpen koetswerk aanmeten, op steeds grotere en snellere chassis. Het ambacht van rijtuigbouwer bleef vooralsnog hetzelfde – hout, zeildoek en leder waren de traditioneel gebruikte materialen – maar de toepassing van een statig of juist sportief carrosserietype veranderde wel. Want voor het koetswerk liepen geen paarden maar bromden zware motoren waarachter de chauffeur plaats nam. De smaak van de clientèle veranderde mee met de ontwikkelingen in kunst en mode. Dat moest getoond worden, en daarin vindt een concours d’élégance zijn oorsprong die teruggaat tot het Frankrijk van de laat achttiende eeuw. In een passende ambiance paradeerden eigenaars van luxe rijtuigen toen al door de straten van Parijs voor een groot publiek. Met de komst van de automobiel deden fabrikanten en koetswerkbouwers hetzelfde met hun nieuwste modellen, vergezeld van mannequins in de nieuwste haute couture. Parijs was het chique middelpunt van de vroege auto-industrie en mode. Dus vonden in het Bois de Boulogne, bij de paardenrenbaan van Longchamps, de eerste grote concours d’élégances plaats maar ook aan de Franse Rivièra, of in Biarritz en San Rafael. Weldra verspreidde het fenomeen zich naar andere landen – Italië in het bijzonder en vooral toen de carrosseriebouw nieuwe wegen insloeg. Men stapte af van het concept van het rijtuig zonder paard naar echte automobielen. Met de hand en hamer in ronde vormen geklopt aluminium verving het starre hout wat meer sculpturale vrijheden voor de ontwerpers bood. Autodesign was geboren. Zo won het concours d’élégance eind jaren twintig en dertig aan belangrijkheid, met soms primeurs die op de gewone autotentoonstellingen ontbraken. Parijs, San Remo, Villa d’Este bij het Como meer waren de favoriete locaties. Ook in Scheveningen, op het jaarlijkse concours van koetswerken van de Koninklijke Nederlandse Automobiel Club, flaneerden mannequins rond automodellen waarvan soms maar een enkel exemplaar was gebouwd. Want de crème de la crème onder het autokopend publiek zocht in alle maatschappelijke uitingen exclusiviteit – niet in de laatste plaats door de keus van hun automobiel. Sommige fabrikanten vernoemden exclusieve modellen zelfs naar het concours waar ze debuteerden. Dat alles in een tijd waarin Franse en Italiaanse carrosseriebouwers met elkaar wedijverden om de mooiste artistieke prestaties. De periode na de tweede wereldoorlog bracht aanvankelijk grote soberheid in de samenleving. Massamotorisering ontnam de autowereld bovendien zijn romantiek. Het concours d’élégance raakte in de vergetelheid. Om in de jaren tachtig en daarna weer op te leven, zij het nu als podium voor klassieke autocreaties van weleer. Het begon in de jaren vijftig in Californië, op de chique golfclub van Pebble Beach, bij Monterey. Daar poetsen deelnemers aan locale autoraces na afloop hun auto’s nog eens extra op om ermee voor het publiek te pronken. Tegenwoordig is Pebble Beach het mondiale platform voor de mooiste klassieke auto’s die dienovereenkomstig worden beoordeeld door een vakjury. Pebble Beach vormde uiteindelijk ook de bron van inspiratie voor de verschillende internationale concours d’élégances die eind vorige eeuw ontstonden of nieuw leven zijn ingeblazen, zoals Villa d’Este. En dan natuurlijk het Concours d’Elegance, wat begon in Apeldoorn. Na 14 edities besloot de organisatie dat het tijd was voor een nieuwe locatie Paleis Soestdijk. Het concours staat hoog op de agenda van de internationale gemeenschap van autokenners en –liefhebbers. Begrijpelijk, want alleen al het aantal best-of-show winnaars – Lancia, Pegaso, Fiat, Ferrari, Hispano-Suiza’s en andere topmerken uit het rijke autoverleden hebben het Concours d’Elegance gemaakt tot wat het nu is Nederlands grootste en meest prestigieuze catwalk voor de automobiel. With a full line-up of the world’s rarest cars and a collection of luxury partners more impressive than ever at Concours of Elegance 2021, planning for a special 10th anniversary event in 2022 is now underway. The UK’s finest concours d’elegance will evolve from September 2-4th next year with a three-day celebration of both Her Majesty The Queen’s 70th year as monarch and the event’s 10th anniversary. In 2012, the event was born with a collector car showcase that transformed the automotive landscape in the UK. Never before had there been a concours d’elegance with the calibre of venue and quality of automotive displays to sit shoulder-to-shoulder with the likes of Concorso d’Eleganza at Villa d’Este or the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Ever since its debut, the Concours of Elegance has had an association with Royal Palaces and the Jewels of the car world, hosted at Windsor Castle in 2012 and subsequently at St James’s Palace, the Palace of Holyroodhouse and Hampton Court Palace. In 2022, the Concours of Elegance evolves once more. Returning to Hampton Court Palace’s Fountain Gardens, where it has been held since 2017, it will be a reunion of all of the finest cars to ever grace the event. Each of the winners from 2012 through to 2021 will be invited, and in honour of the event’s Patron will be called The Prince Michael of Kent Class. Alongside them will be many of the stars from the inaugural edition at Windsor Castle in 2012, each handpicked to join the celebration of an event these very same cars helped to establish. Our Steering Committee of motoring experts, who each year invite cars and owners to the Concours of Elegance, agreed from the very beginning that once a car was displayed at the event it couldn’t be seen again for another 10 years. Now, in 2022, our early supporters have the first opportunity return to the event. In homage to its royal roots, with the patronage of HRH Prince Michael of Kent, and its unique royal palace venues, the Concours of Elegance will be showcasing a number of the Royal cars for official display. What’s more, royal vehicles from all over the world, past and present, will also be invited to attend, including the famous Rolls-Royces of the Maharajahs. And in the year of Her Majesty The Queen’s 70th year as monarch, a unique display will be curated to showcase one example of automotive endeavour and innovation from each year of her reign. A new Grand Prix class will celebrate race-winning single-seaters from the top-tier of motorsport, including early Formula One Championship winners and innovators. Cars that have become just as iconic as the gladiatorial racers that drove them. Thronjubiläum der zurück ins Jahr 2012 Zum ersten Mal gab es in Großbritannien einen Concours d’Elegance mit einem Veranstaltungsort und einer Qualität an automobilen Exponaten, die mit denen des Concorso d’Eleganza in Villa d’Este oder des Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance mithalten konnten. Seit seinem Debüt ist der Concours of Elegance mit Königspalästen und den Juwelen der Autowelt Jahr 2022 entwickelt sich der Concours of Elegance ein weiteres Mal weiter. La gagnante du concours d’Élégance de Pebble Beach 2021 Et le gagnant du Best of show 2021 est… Chaque année, les plus belles voitures de collection au monde se réunissent sur le 18e fairway de golf de Pebble Beach, en Californie, pour concourir au titre de Best of Show, le prix de reconnaissance ultime pour les meilleures automobiles anciennes. Jugés sur leur élégance, leur mérite technique et leur histoire, ces véhicules d’exception s’affrontent pour décrocher le Graal autos d’avant-guerre, d’après-guerre, de course, … il n’y a au final qu’un seul gagnant du trophée Pebble Beach Best of Show, considéré comme la plus haute distinction en matière de véhicule historique. Ce modèle spécifique de Mercedes est version mise à jour de la voiture de course Mercedes-Benz W154 Silver Arrow. L’optimisation de l’aérodynamisme se traduit par de longues ailes en forme de larme et une section arrière gracieusement inclinée. There are five in 2022, and Rule Britannia Sunday, held during the Platinum Jubilee weekend marking the 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign, promises to be a special celebration of great British engineering. For full details, click here 20. 1000 Miglia When 15-18 June 2022 Where Brescia, Italy The classic 1000 Miglia rally is back for its 40th re-enactment in June 2022, starting and ending in Brescia. Competitors will drive a clockwise route through Italy, completing four legs that include the Adriatic Coast, the capital city of Rome and the legendary Monza circuit. InterClassics Days of Elegance When 18-19 June 2022 Where Valkenburg, The Netherlands This is a new event for 2022, and many details are yet to emerge, but Days of Elegance looks set to be an excellent addition to the international motoring calendar. It will comprise a concours d’elegance and a ’Night of Elegance’ from 8pm on Saturday, a classic rally, a gala evening, picnics and a celebration of future classics, all in the surroundings of the Chateau St Gerlach and its outbuildings, parks, gardens and vineyards. Sir Jackie Stewart Classic When 18-19 June 2022 Where Thirlestane Castle, Scottish Borders, UK New for 2022 is this two-day event set in the striking grounds of Thirlestane Castle, around 30 miles south of Edinburgh. The Sir Jackie Stewart Classic will be a celebration of the triple Formula One world champion’s career including a display of his cars and trophies, as well as racers driven by fellow Scots David Coulthard, Dario Franchitti and Allan McNish. Expect a new film about Stewart to debut, too. The Borders Vintage Automobile Club will also be marking its half century on the Sunday with a display that is expected to attract around 1200 cars. Goodwood Festival of Speed When 23-26 June 2022 Where Goodwood Estate, West Sussex, UK The Goodwood Festival of Speed tends to be a touch more modern than the Members Meeting or Revival it’s sandwiched between, but there’s still lots for the classic car fan to enjoy. The famous hill is tackled by new and old vehicles alike, and the forest rally stage is awash with them, too, so you’ll get many chances to see icons from years gone by in action – and a great deal of those will be present as static displays, allowing you to get up close and personal. Yorkshire Motorsport Festival When 24-26 June 2022 Where Meltham, West Yorkshire, UK The second Yorkshire Motorsport Festival returns to the 125-acre site of its successful 2021 debut – last year it hosted the county’s first closed-road hillclimb. The competitive action will be a feature once more this year where around 75 cars are expected to vie for glory. But that’s not all. London Concours When 28-30 June 2022 Where Honourable Artillery Company, London, UK Tucked away in a pristine, five-acre spot in the heart of London, the sixth edition of the London Concours will be looking to build on the success of the 2021 event, which expanded to three days. The 2022 edition will be in partnership with Classic & Sports Car for the first time. Tuesday will open proceedings with a VIP Preview Day’, followed by The Style Edition’ on Wednesday and Supercar Day’ on Thursday. Le Mans Classic When 30 June-3 July 2022 Where Circuit de la Sarthe, Le Mans, France Following its 2021 postponement, this biannual celebration of the legendary race is back for summer 2022. It’s exclusively for models which competed in the Le Mans 24 Hours between the inaugural event in 1923 and 1981, and priority is given to cars that have actually raced there – they’re often joined by famous drivers, too, so keep your eyes peeled. The Classic When 26-28 August 2022 Where Silverstone Circuit, Northamptonshire, UK The Classic, formerly known as the Silverstone Classic, is always one of the biggest events of its kind on the calendar, and in 2022 it takes over Silverstone Circuit on a new date during the August bank-holiday weekend. Concours of Elegance When 2-4 September 2022 Where Hampton Court Palace, Surrey, UK The Concours of Elegance is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2022 and will return to the majestic Hampton Court Palace – and that anniversary means we can expect something special from this already spectacular event. It brings together 60 of the most rare classic cars, many of which will never have been seen in the UK before, all of which vie for the prestigious Best in Show award. InterClassics Maastricht When 8-11 September 2022 Where MECC Maastricht, The Netherlands This year’s InterClassics Maastricht will focus on Dutch Grand Prix classics, and more specifically, the heyday of the Zandvoort circuit. Goodwood Revival When 16-18 September 2022 Where Goodwood Estate, West Sussex, UK The highlight of the UK’s classic motorsport calendar has to be the Goodwood Revival, given how much there is for visitors both on and off track. Of course, the world-class historic racing is the centrepiece, accompanied by parades and static displays, but there’s also an atmosphere like no other to get lost in. The immaculate attention to detail is what sets this event apart, with everyone wearing carefully chosen period dress, plus a retro funfair, vintage shops and music – and more. Autumn Classic When 24 September 2022 Where Castle Combe, Wiltshire, UK Since it was established in 2012, Castle Combe’s Autumn Classic has always provided a thrilling late-season dose of motorsport, with packed grids and plenty of action. Sadly, it has also almost always coincided with atrocious weather, which probably accounts for this event’s move to late September, rather than its usual early October slot. Expect up to 10 races, including pre-’66 Jaguars, the Historic Sports Car Club’s Griffiths Haig Trophy and Touring Cars, plus a celebration to mark the 70th anniversary of the first Porsche to race at Castle Combe. Chantilly Arts & Elegance When 24-25 September 2022 Where Chantilly, France After a three-year absence, Chantilly Arts & Elegance returns in 2022 with plenty to captivate the senses. Its beautiful array of classic and concept cars can be seen in two concours events, the Concours d’Elegance and Concours d’Etat, with parades and rallies also on the agenda. Zoute Grand Prix When 5-9 October 2022 Where Knokke-Heist, Belgium In spite of its name, the Zoute Grand Prix offers you far more than just your historic racing fix. In fact, it’s a week-long motoring celebration, featuring a wide variety of displays and competitions, including a concours, tours and art exhibitions. The Zoute Rally is one of the highlights, for cars registered between 1920 and 1965, starting and ending in Knokke-Heist with a three-day route. For full details, click here 39. Motorclassica When 7-9 October 2022 Where Royal Exhibition Building, Melbourne, Australia Melbourne’s Motorclassica event returns for its 11th running in 2022, following a postponement last year. It’s a three-day affair, and although details are scarce at this stage, it’s expected to feature the usual tour of more than 70 classic cars and ’bikes through Melbourne to begin the proceedings, followed by a concours d’elegance. Historic Rally Festival When 15-16 October 2022 Where Weston Park, Shropshire, UK For 2022, the Historic Rally Festival moves to an October date, and is bigger and better than ever, guaranteeing you an action-packed weekend. For the first time, dusk and night-time stages have been added, which will be held at the rally’s traditional home of Weston Park on Saturday – Ironbridge Power Station is also hosting new stages on the same day. There’ll be more surprises in store on Sunday, too, which are yet to be announced – it’s thought the routes for that day will also be extended to new venues. For full details, click here 41. Auto e Moto d’Epoca When 20-23 October 2022 Where Padua, Italy Nearly 40 years after its founding as a vintage car market, the Auto e Moto d’Epoca has grown to become a major international event. It celebrates classic cars and ’bikes of all kinds, and you’ll find many of them for sale here, so you could just find yourself coming away with your next passion project. London to Brighton Veteran Car Run When 6 November 2022 Where from Hyde Park in London to Brighton seafront, UK The London to Brighton Veteran Car Run, the world’s oldest motoring event, is returning on the first Sunday of November 2022. It remains as popular as ever, and in 2021 celebrated its 125th anniversary with approximately 400 participants, all at the helm of vehicles built before 1905. NEC Classic Motor Show When 11-13 November 2022 Where The NEC, Birmingham, UK The Classic Motor Show is the UK’s largest indoor classic car event, and every year is one of the classic calendar’s highlights – we’re sure 2022 will be no different. In addition to the cars, there’s always a massive number of club stands where you can meet fellow enthusiasts, as well as trade stands, dealer displays, a live stage and an auction, as well as the C&SC team, who’ll be on hand to reveal the winners of the C&SC Club Awards. InterClassics Brussels When 19-21 November 2022 Where Brussels, Belgium InterClassics Brussels is a great classic extravaganza to finish off the motoring year. Its running in 2021 marked the event’s return following a COVID-enforced cancellation, and featured a celebration of the 75th birthday of Belgian racing legend Jacky Ickx at its heart. Details of the 2022 event are yet to be finalised, but expect it to be as good as ever. Pirelli équipe les voitures de collection de pneus marqués pour la villa d’Este... En 1929, il y a 90 ans, s’est déroulée la toute première édition du célèbre Concours d’Élégance de la Villa d’Este, remportée par une Isotta Fraschini Tipo 8A équipée de pneus Pirelli Cord Superflex. En 2019, Pirelli revient sur les rives du lac de Côme en tant que partenaire officiel de l’un des événements automobiles les plus prestigieux d’Europe, en équipant les plus belles voitures présentes. Au cœur du somptueux parc des expositions de la Villa, Pirelli dévoile quelques-uns des véhicules qui ont écrit l’histoire automobile ainsi que sa gamme de pneus Collezione destinée aux voitures de collection. Les décennies traversées par l’exposition à la villa d’Este ont été marquées par de nombreuses évolutions, mais la passion pour les voitures, l’élégance et l’esprit de compétition restent intacts. Outre ces valeurs traditionnelles, un intérêt nouveau se manifeste pour la préservation et le respect de l’héritage automobile. Cet intérêt est partagé à plusieurs niveaux par Pirelli. La Fondation Pirelli est l’une des ressources impliquées. Audi avec un P700-Z sur mesure pour la Sport Quattro, Jaguar avec un P Zero spécifique pour la XJ220, Lamborghini qui a demandé un CN12 pour la Miura et Ferrari qui a redonné vie au Stelvio réservé à la 250 GTO en sont la parfaite illustration. La toute dernière initiative de cette stratégie, le pneu P-700 Z 16 pouces pour la BMW Z1, était également présentée à la Villa d’Este. La gamme Pirelli Collezione compte actuellement 34 tailles, dont quatre seulement sont des pneus non marqués et huit nouvelles tailles sont en cours d’élaboration. Le Pirelli Superflex Cord équipe l’Isotta Fraschini La voiture mesurait précisément cinq mètres de long et son capot allongé abritait le premier moteur huit cylindres en ligne de l’histoire, faisant d’elle la voiture la plus puissante de l’époque sur route. C’est toutefois l’élégance incomparable de l’Isotta Fraschini Tipo 8A qui en a fait le choix privilégié de la haute société américaine. En réalité, ses caractéristiques techniques et son prix exorbitant sont bien plus adaptés au marché américain qu’au marché européen et on peut la voir dans une poignée de films hollywoodiens comme Sunset Boulevard » 1950, qui a remporté trois Oscars. L’Isotta Fraschini Tipo 8A a reçu elle-même un prix lors du tout premier Concours d’Élégance de la Villa d’Este en 1929. La voiture était alors équipée du fleuron des pneus de l’industrie automobile de l’époque, le Pirelli Superflex Cord, surnommé le pneu de la victoire ». It is the largest annual classic sportscar event in Finland, and the event is organized by Mr. Antti Wihanto. This year was the 20th event. However next year the event will celebrate the 20th Anniversary more officially – “bigger and better” hopefully with more guests from other countries as well. The main event was on a Sunday 19th June, but my trip to Turku with the F355 started already on Saturday morning when I joined a driving event from Helsinki to Turku. In the convoy there were cars like Lotus Esprit Turbo, McLaren 12C, Alfa Romeo 8C, Lamborghini Gallardo, Ferrari 550 Maranello, several Porsches, and more. The route was great, mostly great country roads and only a short drive on the highway, and the rain did not stop us from enjoying our cars. Upon arrival in Turku I first drove the Ferrari F355 with the Lotus Esprit to Pro Detailing Turku to get the cars washed for the next day. Both cars are for sale by Harri Asunta, you can read more about my weekend drive with the F355 in the post “Ferrari F355 Berlinetta – my best weekend date ever”. Then I got the news that I would sit in the jury with twelve other people, choosing the class winners of this year’s Concours d’Elegance. We had a really nice mix of judges. There were a few classic car specialists who really knew what they were talking about. When they can look at a repainted body and immediately tell the shade is not exactly the same colour that the factory offered at that time, you know they are true enthusiasts. For that reason I stayed close, and listened, and learned. I have not been that involved in the classic car world that I would recognize every model that was there. But this is something I wish to change in future, because I really like old cars. The classes were “Best Coupe” and “Best Open”, with 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes in each. One of the winners of the two classes would also be awarded “Best in Show”. Concours d’Elegance Harjattula 2016 – Best Coupe As much as I personally worship the Lamborghini Miura, for me it was a clear choice which car I wanted to win “Best Coupe” at this event. The “Scuderia Askolin” Ferrari 250 GT LWB Berlinetta Scaglietti Tour de France is the first ever car from Finland to be accepted to Concours d’Elegance Villa d’Este in 2015. A Villa d’Este car in Finland can not be anything else than a Best in Show car at the Finnish Concours d’Elegance. Superb car! The second prize in the coupe class of course went to the Lamborghini Miura owned by Johan Helenius at Competition Motors in Sweden. Unfortunately not a Finnish car – as far as I know there are no Miuras registered in Finland. I think the owners deserve a big applause for bringing the car with a ferry to Finland only for this event. Because one of the themes of this year was Lamborghini Miura 50 years’ it was nice to see a Miura at the event, and this car was in stunning condition. It has a long history with its current owners and to hear it still is one of their favourite cars to drive is fantastic. Third prize went to a Volvo P1800, manufactured in United Kingdom – not Sweden! Concours d’Elegance Harjattula 2016 – Best Open In the “Best Open” class the first prize went to a Stoewer LT 4 Torpedo. It is a rare car to find in this condition apparently only three of these exist in the world, and one is in Finland, and for that reason the jury thought it deserves to win that class. Some people might not consider it a “typical sports car”, but it was one of the more “sportier models” when it was first launched – more than 100 years ago!! I had of course never heard of it before, but you learn something new about automotive history at these events. Second prize was awarded to a beautiful orange Fiat 124 Spider. The second theme of this year’s Concours d’Elegance was Fiat 124 Spider 50 years’. Unfortunately I saw only one Fiat 124 Spider at the event, but luckily that car was a very beautiful one. I especially love the colour! And the car that won third prize was a beautiful Jaguar E-Type Roadster. Concours d’Elegance Harjattula 2016 – Best Alfa The third theme of this year was “Classic Alfa spiders’ Duetto’ 50 years”, but unfortunately we could not find any Alfa Spiders when we walked around judging the cars. So instead the Alfa prize was awarded to another very special car – the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione. Only 500 8C Competizione and 500 8C Spider cars were delivered to customers, so it is a rare car to see anywhere, but to spot one this north in Europe is of course even more special. Sounds good, too! Concours d’Elegance Harjattula 2016 – Best in Show Best in Show was the gorgeous Ferrari – congratulations to the owners not only for this award, but also for the huge success at Villa d’Este! You would not imagine cars like this exist in Finland, but the truth is the more I hear what people have in their garages, the more surprised I am… Some true gems exist in this country, and this is one of the greatest.
